Daily Devotion: Perseverance in Goodness
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)
In a world that often rewards impatience and quick results, the call to persist in doing good can feel like an uphill battle. Yet, Scripture reminds us that our efforts are not in vain. Every act of kindness, every moment of integrity, and every word of encouragement contributes to a greater purpose, even if we do not see the immediate fruits of our labor.
Think about the seeds you are planting in the lives of those around you. Each good deed, no matter how small, is like a seed sown in fertile soil. It may take time for the harvest to be visible, but God promises that in due season, we will reap. This is a call to faithfulness, a reminder to trust in the process and the divine timing of our Lord.
As men, we are often called to be leaders, protectors, and providers. In this role, it is easy to become fatigued, especially when our efforts seem to go unnoticed or unappreciated. However, let us take heart! The strength to continue doing good comes not from our own understanding but from reliance on God's promises.
So, today, let us recommit ourselves to the practice of goodness, knowing that our labor is not in vain. Let every action reflect the love of Christ, and let us encourage one another to keep pressing forward. In due season, we will reap the rewards of our perseverance. Stay the course, brothers; your harvest is coming.
